Operationalisation of ARAC
The 11th Meeting of the AEGFS in Siem Reap, Cambodia on 7-9th October 2014 exchanged views on the operationalisation modalities for ARAC including identifying potential pilot food safety risk assessment project, development of the necessary working rules and procedures including for Scientific Committee and Scientific Panels and resource mobilisation including appointments of members of Scientific Committee, Scientific Panel, and Focal Points.
A workshop, organised by AEGFS with the support from ASEAN Secretariat and ARISE, was conducted on 24 – 26 March 2015 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to develop the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for ARAC.

It resulted in the development of the following SOPs which was subsequently endorsed by AEGFS through ad-referendum on 15 June 2015 and the SOMHD held in Vietnam on 14-17 September 2015:
- ARAC/SOP1 - Priotisation and Commisioning of Risk Assessment
- ARAC/SOP2 - Establishment and Operations of Scientific Committee
- ARAC/SOP3 - Scientific Panel
- ARAC/SOP4 - Secondment of Officer from ASEAN Member States (AMSs) to ASEAN Risk Assessment Centre for Food Safety (ARAC)
