Abstract:

 

The updated -Risk Profile Mycotoxin in the New Zealand Food Supply 2006. This report compiles the likely risks of the various categories of mycotoxins and previous occurrence data for New Zealand foods. This provides a single resource from which risk ranking future work on mycotoxins can be undertaken.The report highlighted that Aflatoxins, Ochratoxin A and Trichothecenes had significant health concerns and data gaps on occurrence data prevented accurate risk assessments from being completed.Other categories of mycotoxins, such as fumonisins and ergot alkaloids were prioritised as less of a dietary risk.
