Preparatory Workshop for Submission of Risk Assessment Request to ASEAN Risk Assessment Centre for Food Safety (ARAC) was held in Putrajaya from 10 – 11 December 2015. It was an initiative by the ASEAN Expert Group on Food Safety (AEGFS) in collaboration with ASEAN Regional Integration Support from the EU (ARISE). The Workshop was attended by 29 participants from Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, representing AEGFS and lead country of the risk assessment request, Chair of Prepared Foodstuff Product Working Group (PFPWG), Task Force on Harmonisation of Prepared Foodstuff Standards, PFPWG Malaysia, ARAC Secretariat and ARISE as the organiser. This workshop aims to review and finalise the risk assessment request and risk profile prepared by lead country, with inputs including data from all ASEAN Member State (AMS), for the pilot risk assessment topics. This is essential to facilitate the convening of the 1st Scientific Committee Meeting of ARAC, tentatively scheduled on the 3rd week of March 2016 to evaluate these requests.
